Police: Suspect dead following officer-involved shooting in Flagstaff

Flagstaff police say a man fatally shot by three officers after he fired at one of them had earlier had brandished a gun during a verbal altercation with somebody else about the man playing loud music.

Sgt. Cory Runge says the altercation involving 29-year-old Sean D. Brady and his subsequent fatal encounter with police occurred Thursday night in a Wal-Mart store's parking lot. Runge stated Brady fired a handgun at an approaching officer and that the officer and two other officers fired at Brady, fatally wounding him.

Police say two rifles, a handgun, boxes of ammunition and several spent casings were found inside Brady's truck.

The three officers were not injured in the shooting. According to Flagstaff Police, the officers were placed on standard administrative leave pending an investigation by a multi-agency law enforcement team.
