Teen crashes into Gilbert police vehicle

A teenager driver suffered minor injuries after crashing into a Gilbert Police officer at Greenfield and Warner on Saturday night.

The Gilbert officer had his lights and sirens activated while responding to a house fire at about 1pm. Police say the officer entered the intersection of Greenfield and Warner after stopping for traffic to clear. They say he entered the intersection after traffic had stopped, and that's when a 17-year-old girl driver crashed into the officer's vehicle.

Neither the officer nor the teenager were seriously injured; they only suffered minor injuries. Both of them were treated at the scene by medics and released.
