Thousands expected to attend Donald Trump event Saturday
Preparations are underway in the North Ballroom of the Phoenix Convention Center.
Crews are setting up the lights, and getting the staging just right.
Organizers now expect more than 5,000 people at the 2 p.m. rally.
"I expect immigration on the table, economic issues, trade, jobs for Americans, all those things discussed," said Jake Hoffman with the AZ Republican Party.
But some of Arizona's most prominent Republicans have denounced Donald Trump's comments about undocumented Mexican immigrants and have said they won't be there. Senators John McCain and Jeff Flake and Governor Doug Ducey say they will not meet the Presidential candidate at the airport.
Latino groups have also spoken out, united in opposition.
"I think it is very unfortunate, he is getting so much support, it shows how divided our country is... we hope Trump is not allowed to spew his hate without interruption, we want people to let him know how we feel about him," said Carlos Garcia with Puente.
Organizers say they have a plan in place for hecklers.
"It is going to be a fantastic event, we expect some protesters, but that won't detract from it. We will have Joe Arpaio, and Tyler Bowyer, we think it will be a very good event," said Hoffman.
FOX 10 will be streaming Trump's event, starting at 1:30 p.m. on www.youtube.com/FOX10Phoenix
