PHILADELPHIA -(WTXF)-10,000 tickets for the Papal Mass were claimed in 30 seconds on Wednesday night.
"I logged on to the site at 8:03 and I had to create a user name for an event group and it said that there was none available," said Sarah Mills. She's disappointed after going online tonight for free papal tickets. This latest round was for Mass on Sunday the 27th which she desperately wants to attend.
"I hope that I can somehow get a ticket from somebody who got an extra one but we'll see," said Sarah.
10,000 tickets were available and gone in 30 seconds. Tickets to the papal festival were snapped up this afternoon in just minutes and the same to see the Pope at Independence Mall.
Now some who got them are also selling them on sites like E-bay. Today just minutes after they were made available we found listings that read $250 each, 4 for $1,000.
Allison Burns says her family has been trying for months to find a way to see Pope Francis.
"My uncle was able to get a ticket through the lottery and my mom was thinking about coming down because she was here for the original visit in the 80s," said Allison.
The other big news released today, people still looking for a place to stay now have the option to camp out in East Fairmount Park or Francis Fields as it's being called. The site will include showers, first aid supplies, food vendors and restrooms.
"I probably would not just because I wouldn't want to put up with the headache of it all, I'd just rather watch comfortably from my couch at home," said Allison.
The park can host 16,000 people. It'll cost about $200 with additional fees for parking.
