Vicious baseball bat attack caught on camera

The NYPD released surveillance camera video of two men jumping out of an SUV and running up to another man, striking him with a baseball bat. They're hoping the video will lead to tips and the capture of the assailants.

The 32-year-old victim was walking along Southern Boulevard in the South Bronx when he was assaulted by both suspects. One of the men hit him from behind and the victim fell to the ground. The other suspect then hit the man in the head.

Both ran back to the Range Rover with New York state plates and took off. The vicious beating occurred on June 17 at about 4:50 p.m. in front of stunned people on the sidewalk. The victim was rushed to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition. No update on his condition was available.

The first suspect is described by police as Hispanic, with a light complexion, 27 to 35 years of age, with a medium build and bald. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, orange shorts, white shirts and a gold watch.

The second suspect is described as Hispanic, with a dark complexion, in his thirties, approximately 5'5" to 5'7", with a medium build and black medium length hair. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, blue jean shorts, black shoes, a gold chain and black sunglasses.
