A woman is facing animal cruelty charges after 52 dogs were found at her Glendale home.

Glendale police say 55-year-old Laurie Collins was arrested on Wednesday after 52 dogs were found at her home near 67th Avenue and Peoria.

Police say two of the dogs were found dead in the backyard and another died on the way to the Arizona Humane Society.

The human society says the dogs are being examined and vaccinated and will be given time to relax and adjust to their new environment.

Collins faces 49 counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animals and three counts of felony cruelty to animals.
