Wrong-way driver on SR 51 arrested
PHOENIX - A wrong-way driver caused two crashes in the southbound lanes of State Route 51 on Saturday night.
According to troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the wrong-way vehicle was heading north in the southbound lanes of the SR 51. Troopers say the vehicle sideswiped one vehicle, and then crashed into a second vehicle.
The accused wrong-way driver was brought to a nearby hospital for reasons that have have not been released.
The driver has been booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail and has been charged with DUI.
There were no injuries reported in either of the crashes.
