YCSO: Standoff with armed man at Prescott store ends peacefully

PRESCOTT, Ariz. (KSAZ) - The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after a standoff ended peacefully at a Sprouts Market in Prescott.

Randy Crossno, 54, was arrested following an altercation with officers and charged with assault on a peace officer, weapons offense, forgery, possession of a controlled substance, theft and several traffic violations.

On November 17 just around 10:30, a YCSO deputy attempted to stop Crossno for an equipment violation. He drove away resulting in a chase, but the deputy eventually lost sight of his vehicle.

Prescott Police officers then located the suspect vehicle unoccupied in the parking lot of the Springhill Suite Hotel on Sheldon Street.

Deputies responded to the area to find police officers holding Crossno at gunpoint in the parking lot of Sprouts Market next to the hotel. Officers were commanding Crossno to drop his weapon.

Crossno refused telling law enforcement he did not want to go back to prison. Law enforcement continued speaking with him and he eventually surrendered.

Crossno remains in custody on a $125,000 bond.
