Police in Pennsylvania were searching for two men who stole dozens of bananas from a Wawa over the weekend.

Dig deeper:

The Hatboro Police Department asked for the public’s help identifying two men who stole approximately 96 bananas from a Wawa store and drove off in a black Hyundai Santa Cruz.

"Yes… 96 bananas," police wrote in an alert on the department’s website.

Local perspective:

An image from surveillance footage of the pair was shared on the department’s website, and they were quickly identified, according to a USA Today report.

What they're saying:

"Our investigators didn’t monkey around and located the bandits in short order," police told USA Today. "We do not expect any further monkey business from the individuals responsible."

No word on what happened to all of those bananas but the men "made immediate restitution to the business," according to police.
