Under Senate Bill 1802, the new holiday will fall on August 14 each year. If it falls on a day other than Sunday, it will be observed on the Sunday following August 14.

Members of Arizona National Guard reunited with family after overseas deployment

120 members of the Arizona National Guard, were deployed to Iraq and Kuwait for military support operations, are now back home with their families. Earlier on March 26, families gathered at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to welcome them home.

"Arizona is ready to partner with the federal government to strengthen our borders and improve our immigration system," Governor Doug Ducey wrote in a statement on March 26. "In Arizona, we've previously deployed the National Guard to the border to support law enforcement." The governor also said he is requesting federal reimbursement for deployment.
