1 killed in head-on collision south of Phoenix
PHOENIX (AP) - A 34-year-old Phoenix man died early Thursday morning after a car he was riding in collided with another vehicle on State Route 347 near Riggs Road.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said Justin Clark was a passenger in a sedan that was headed southbound when it crossed over the median and struck a tow truck on the northbound lanes.
Clark was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. He died on scene. The driver of the car, 26-year-old Deanna Borboa, also wasn't wearing her seatbelt and suffered serious injuries.
The driver of the tow truck was also injured.
Detectives are investigating whether impairment was a contributing factor in the collision.
