17-year-old arrested, left two kids in hot car for a "Starbucks run"

A 17-year-old girl has been arrested for leaving two children in a hot car in Phoenix.

At 3:30 p.m., Phoenix Police responded to two unattended children in a parked car in the parking lot of a Target at Christown Mall.

The car was not running and the windows were only slightly down. The children were contacted by officers and were not injured.

The 17-year-old girl was located nearby with two other children in her care, according to Public Information Officer Sergeant Vince Lewis.

Police say she had gone on a Starbucks run and the two children stayed behind.

Drugs were found in her vehicle and she was then arrested for child endangerment.

All of the children are safe and with family.
