2-vehicle crash kills one person in Tempe

Tempe Police officers responded to a fatal traffic crash Monday night.

According to a statement, the person who died, identified as a 38-year-old man, was driving a scooter when it get involved in an accident with an SUV at Priest Drive and 16th Street. The scooter driver was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

Police officials said it is believed that impairment is a factor for the SUV's driver, who is only identified as an adult male. That person was reportedly taken to the hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.
