Arizona officials: 7 residents no longer infected with measles

PHOENIX (AP) - Health officials say seven Arizona residents sickened in a measles outbreak are no longer infectious.

Kore Redden, acting director of the Pinal County's Department of Public Health, said Tuesday that there remains the possibility of new cases to surface. Up to 1,000 people in Arizona may have been exposed to measles.

The Center for Disease Control reports 105 cases nationwide in the outbreak that began at Disneyland in California.

Redden says some Pinal County residents exposed won't know if they're clear until Feb. 13 passes with no symptoms.

Maricopa County resident Shana Bereche and her 5-month-old daughter, Leighton, were exposed and have to stay home.

Bereche says she fears her daughter catching the disease.

She says she's frustrated because plumbers refused to enter her home to fix the shower.
