Arizona troopers searching for suspects who shot at car on freeway: DPS
MESA, Ariz. - The northbound lanes of State Route 87 in Mesa have reopened after authorities searched for suspects accused of firing shots at another vehicle before fleeing into the desert on Thursday.
What we know:
The incident began on Jan. 16 with a hit-and-run along the Loop 202 near Scottsdale Road, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.
After the collision, DPS says the victim followed the suspect's vehicle to State Route 87, near McDowell Road, where the suspects opened fire.
No one was hurt in the shooting. The victim stayed at the scene and called 911.

"The suspect vehicle took off eventually stopping a mile south of Shea boulevard on State Route 87 where the occupants fled on foot into the desert," DPS said.
