Arrest made in deadly Glendale crash

An arrest has been made after a deadly crash between a truck and a motorcycle left the cyclist dead on Saturday morning.

Police say the driver of the truck 38-year-old Roberto Villegas, was arrested after showing signs of impairment.

The fatal accident happened near 2:15 a.m., on Saturday at 45th Avenue and Camelback left a large amount of debris strewn across the road.

Glendale Police say the motorcyclist, identified as 53-year-old Terry Douglas, was killed on the scene.

The intersection was shut down in all directions for hours on Saturday morning as officers investigated what led up the deadly accident.

Villegas was treated for non-life threatening injuries at the hospital, was released and booked at the Fourth Avenue jail. He is now facing two felony counts for manslaughter and causing a death while driving on a suspended license.
