Baby loungers sold on Amazon, Walmart recalled over entrapment, fall hazards, CPSC says

Baby loungers sold on Amazon and Walmart have been recalled because the products may cause severe injury from entrapment and fall risks.

Consumer Product Safety Commission officials said the sides of the loungers are too low to contain an infant and the enclosed openings at the foot of the loungers are wider than allowed, which can pose these hazards.

The agency also stated in the release that the products violate the mandatory safety standard for infant sleep products. To date, no injuries have been reported.

Which baby loungers are being recalled?

Why you should care:

Approximately 9,300 Joyful Journeys Baby Loungers were recalled. These items are made of a foam sleeping pad and padded bumpers with a cloth cover and zip up into a bag with a strap at the top.

According to the CPSC, the baby loungers were sold on Amazon.com and Walmart.com from December 2023 through October 2025 for between $40 and $60.

The loungers were sold in the following styles: green avocado, blue dinosaur, blue lambs, blue zoo animals, green minky, neutral elephants, pink zoo animals, and white minky.

CPSC officials said the baby loungers do not have a stand, posing a fall hazard if used on elevated surfaces. These violations create an unsafe sleeping environment and can cause death or significant injury to infants.

Is there a refund for the loungers?

What you can do:

Consumers with the loungers should immediately stop using them and call Joyful Journeys to receive a refund.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends removing the foam and pads from the baby lounger’s cover and cutting the cover, foam, and pad in half. Moreover, consumers should email photos of the destroyed pieces to joyfuljourneysrecalls@myjoyfuljourneys.com to get a full refund.
