Border Patrol agents arrest 264 immigrants near Arizona border

AJO, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Border Patrol agents have arrested 264 immigrants near the Arizona border.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, agents patrolling west of the Lukeville Port of Entry found two large groups of immigrants, totaling 264 adults and children, in a 24-hour span.

Border Patrols agents encountered a large group of 164 immigrants on Tuesday and a second group of 100 immigrants was found near the same location on Wednesday.

Both groups consisted of immigrants and unaccompanied children, ranging in ages from 11 months to 59-year-old, from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

The immigrants are in good health and were taken to the Ajo Border Patrol Station.

The Border Patrol says agents have arrested over 1,200 people near the same area in the last three months.
