Cesar Chavez mural unveiled in Phoenix

PHOENIX (FOX 10) - There's a bright new mural in town, and it's all to honor the late labor rights leader Cesar Chavez.

March 31 is Cesar Chavez Day. Muralist Isaac Caruso recently unveiled his work of art in celebration of the holiday. The "Sí Se Puede." It's located near 67th Ave and Indian School Road.

Caruso says his mural pays tribute to Chavez's legacy.

"The mural is definitely inspired by the works of Cesar Chavez, hence the title of it which is "Sí Se Puede," Caruso said. "And you can read that in the center of the piece. But more specifically, it's about the Marvyale community and it's just supposed to display the strength and resilience of this neighborhood."

The unveiling also featured a community resources event held by ASU and Chicanos Por La Causa.
