Chain reaction crash kills one on I-10 in Phoenix
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Interstate 10 has reopened in Phoenix after one person was killed in a chain-reaction crash.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the crash happened when two drivers stopped their vehicles along eastbound I-10 at 51st Avenue to exchange information. Two other drivers stopped their vehicles behind them and a box truck traveling behind was unable to stop and struck the rear-most vehicle, causing a chain-reaction crash.
One person was killed in the crash and another person was seriously injured.
Eastbound I-10 reopened at 67th Avenue just before 8 a.m.
