Country Thunder offering new amenities to festival-goers

FLORENCE, Ariz. (FOX 10) - Country Thunder begins on Thursday, March 11, so most people end up making a whole weekend of it and camping out there. Some campers have elaborate set-ups and this year, there's some new amenities available to campers - for a price, of course.

It's a huge production preparing for Country Thunder - they're calling it the calm before the thunder. The main stage is up and ready for more than a dozen artists that will hit the stage - and more than 35,000 people will be in attendance this weekend.

Campers have already started to arrive. Traffic has been backed up on the way here - it took about two hours to get to the festival grounds from the Valley.

We spoke to a group from the Valley who are here for five days camping out. One of the interesting things is - campers will be able to rent out their own portable toilets. One of the campers we spoke with says it was worth the $180.

"this is our first year actually doing it," said festival-goer Kayla Acosta. "We're in [Crazy Coyote] so we knew that it was going to be the dirtiest one just because everyone is walking about and partying here. So, I recommended to the group that we should probably get our own considering that they would be dirty. At least here, you can have your own toilet paper [and it] smells nicer. Do you know who's in it, using it - it's worth it."

Anything to make your campout a little more comfortable, right?
