Grand Avenue partially closed after crash
Part of Grand Avenue will be closed for several hours following a crash involving five cars and a fire.
PHOENIX - Part of Grand Avenue was closed for several hours following a crash that involved multiple vehicles.
When officers arrived at the scene near 40th and Grand avenues on December 23, they learned that five vehicles were involved and one of the vehicles was on fire.
"Three adults were transported to nearby hospitals, two of which were for non-life-threatening injuries. The final adult suffered life-threatening injuries," said Phoenix Police Sgt. Rob Scherer.
What led up to the crash has not been determined. Scherer says the investigation is ongoing.
No names have been released in this case.
US 60 reopened on Tuesday morning.
