Deadly motorcycle crash on I-17

A deadly crash has shut down parts of the I-17 freeway overnight.

The fatal crash happened at 2:30am in the southbound lanes of I-17 between Bell and Greenway. A motorcyclist lost control when he hit the curb on the highway, and then crashed into a chain link fence.

DPS troopers say the driver, a 39-year-old man from Phoenix, died on the scene. Troopers remain on-scene to investigate. One lane remains shut down on Saturday morning. The southbound off-ramp at Greenway and the on-ramp to Bell road is shut down as well.
