Deadly Tempe shooting shuts down I-10
Interstate 10 is partially shut down in Tempe after police say a woman was shot and killed. FOX 10's Dominique Newland has the latest.
TEMPE, Ariz. - A woman is dead following a shooting early Thursday along Interstate 10 in Tempe.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the suspect in the shooting remains on the loose.
Timeline:
DPS says the incident began at 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 6 at Main Event, near Priest Drive and Warner Road, when a group of people got into an altercation.
Soon after, the people involved in the altercation got into separate vehicles and the shooting occurred along westbound I-10 near Elliot Road.
Authorities responded to Cobblestone Auto Spa, near I-10 and Elliot Road, where 25-year-old Mashay Miller, a resident of Chicago, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
As a result of the shooting, westbound I-10 was shut down at Warner Road throughout the morning commute. It reopened at about 11:30 a.m.
