Firefighters: Man stung several hundreds of times by bees
PEORIA, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Firefighters say a man has been airlifted to a nearby hospital after being stung several hundreds of times by bees in Peoria.
The Peoria Fire Department says the man, who is a worker with Central Arizona Project (CAP), was awake and alert after being stung more than 200 times near Lake Pleasant and the Loop 303 on Wednesday morning.
The man is in stable condition.
Tim Eiden said the worker was removing a couch from the area when he was swarmed by bees that were inside the couch. Eiden said the man, who was covered in bees, ran for a quarter of a mile to try and get away
