Glendale police: 1 killed, 2 others injured in Sunday morning crash
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - One person was killed and two others hurt after a crash in west Phoenix on Sunday morning.
According to Phoenix Fire crews, there were three people involved in a pedestrian accident at 45th Avenue and Camelback. The accident happened at about 5:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Glendale Police say three people were in the eastbound lanes of Camelback Road when they were struck by a vehicle heading east. That vehicle also crashed into a parked vehicle after hitting the pedestrians.
Firefighters say one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other young men, ages 18 and 21 years old, were taken to a nearby trauma hospital.
Glendale Police are investigating the deadly crash and say distracted driving is a possible cause. The driver did remain on scene while police conducted their investigation.
Drivers are advised to avoid the scene while police investigate.
Officers shut down Camelback between 43rd Avenue and 51st Avenue during their investigation.
