Glendale Police: 2 bodies found inside home of level 3 sex offender

Neighbors are in shock after finding out not only two people had died in their neighborhood, but that Phoenix Police officers were attempting to serve a search warrant to a level 3 sex offender with a criminal history.

Officers were attempting to serve the warrant on Saturday around 7:00 p.m. and heard one gunshot. When they entered the home near 59th Avenue and Peoria, they discovered one adult man and a woman, both deceased. No other persons were inside the home at the time.

FOX 10's Courtney Griffin talked to some neighbors about the incident:

"It was a boom and I felt the vibrations and I didn't know what it was."

"All the policemen were there in their vehicles and they all said go in your house, go in your house."

"He was overall a nice guy.. other than the fact that he had some issues."

Police say the level 3 sex offender's criminal history involved sexual conduct with a minor.

Neighbors say the man they saw coming in and out of the home was friendly.

"Just hi, that's it."

"He was actually really outgoing, very personable, had a lot of things going.. has a car dealership and we were looking for a car and he came into our house and discussed how he did the auto actions and all of that."

Right now, it's unclear why or how the two adults were killed and the investigation in ongoing.

"The identification of the two individuals inside will not be made until later this week (late Wednesday or Thursday) depending on the investigation and medical examiner's report. At this time we do not believe there is anyone outstanding in the incident. We are also not aware of anyone else who currently lived in the residence. We have received questions about a possible child or children living in the home. Until the identity of the individuals in the home can be confirmed, we can't say whether there are any children outstanding," stated Glendale Police Sgt. Scott Waite.
