Glendale Police looking for suspect in deadly hit and run incident

GLENDALE, Ariz. (FOX 10) -- Glendale Police officials say they are looking for a suspect in connection with a hit and run incident on Monday that killed a 45-year-old woman.

According to a statement released Tuesday, the incident happened on the the intersection of 71st and Missouri Avenues. At abour 6:45 p.m., Juana Hernandez-Diaz was crossing W. Missouri Avenue within a marked crosswalk on 71st Avenue when she was hit by a car. The driver fled the scene, heading west on Missouri.

Witnesses, according to police, attempted to render first aid, and Hernandez-Diaz was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. Police describe the car involved as a small blue sedan, which should have damage to the front end from the impact.
