Havasupai at Grand Canyon closed due to flood damage
SUPAI, Ariz. (KSAZ/AP) - Officials say Havasupai at the Grand Canyon is closed through at least the end of July due to flood damage.
About 200 tourists were evacuated from a campground on tribal land near Havasupai Falls after the Havasupai Tribe said their reservation was hit with flooding last week.
An emergency response team moved tourists from the campground below the tribal village to a school.
All tourists were accounted for and no one was seriously injured.
The reservation is known for its blue-green waterfalls. Spots in the campgrounds sell out quickly every year.
