Hearing scheduled for man accused of killing DPS trooper
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A hearing is scheduled on Friday for the man accused of killing an Arizona state trooper.
Isaac King, 20, is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of Arizona State of Public Safety Trooper Tyler Edenhofer. King also faces two counts of attempted first-degree murder for wounding a second trooper and shooting at a third.
The troopers responded to reports of King throwing rocks at cars on Interstate 10 in Avondale on July 25.
When troopers arrived at the scene and tried to arrest King, he fought back, grabbed one of the trooper's guns and opened fire.
Trooper Tyler Edenhofer was killed in the shooting.
King has pleaded not guilty to the shooting.
It's not clear if King will be present in court on Friday.
