Husband arrested in wife's shooting

A Mesa man has been arrested on charges that he shot his wife inside their home.

Police have arrested 65-year-old Stanley Kinard on charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault. Neighbors reported hearing gunfire at about 6 o'clock Saturday evening. When police officers arrived, officers found a woman inside a home with serious injuries. Two children were inside the home at the time of the shooting.

Police say Kinard opened fire on his wife, shooting her several times inside their home. The victim, Zinet Abadi-Kinard, remains in the hospital in serious condition.
