Man killed when car crashes into pole in Phoenix

A young man was killed when his car crashed into a pole on Sunday morning, fire crews say.

The 21-year-old driver crashed into an electrical pole near 15th Street and Broadway just before 8am on Sunday. A spokesperson for the Phoenix Fire Department says the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police shut down Broadway Road from 13th to 14th Streets while investigators try to determine what caused the driver to crash. Drivers are advised to avoid the area while police investigate the deadly accident.
