Man shot in the head during overnight shooting

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A 21-year-old man was injured after being shot in the head overnight on Monday.

Phoenix police say the man got into a fight near 26th Street and Monte Vista when he was shot in the back of the head. The man was waiting for his uncle to pick him up when he was shot.

The man was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A police helicopter spotted the man's vehicle speeding and when officers pulled him over, they discovered he had been shot in the head.

The investigation is ongoing, although police say the victim is not cooperating.
