Man who skipped court sentencing found dead in Tucson desert

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A man who failed to show up in court to be sentenced on sex charges has been found dead in the Tucson desert.

Pima County Sheriff's officials say the body of 60-year-old Gary Talkington was located by joggers around 11 a.m. Friday.

Authorities say Talkington's body was hunched over on the passenger side of a car.

They say there was a lot of blood around his body, which showed obvious signs of trauma that appears to have been self-inflicted.

Sheriff's officials say what appears to be a suicide note also was found at the scene.

Talkington was the former owner of an in-home daycare facility.

He was due to be sentenced in Pima County Superior Court on six counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
