MCSO: Deputy taken to the hospital following crash on January 9 is out of the hospital

UPDATE (January 14) -- Officials with MCSO said Monday, on its verified Twitter account, that the deputy who was involved in the crash has been released from the hospital, and is back home.

QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. (FOX 10) -- Officials with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office confirmed Wednesday night that a deputy is in serious condition, following a crash in Queen Creek.

The incident reportedly took place in the area of Chandler Heights and Sossaman. According to MCSO officials, deputies responded to a car accident in the area, and while one scene, a deputy was hit by a car.

The driver, according to MCSO officials, stopped following the crash, and is currently not under arrest. An investigation is ongoing.
