Motorcyclist killed, child injured in crash
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Police have identified the motorcycle who was killed after his cycle crashed with a dump truck, leaving a child injured on Saturday morning.
Phoenix police have identified the motorcycle driver as 30-year-old Vincent Reid. Phoenix fire crews say Reid was not wearing a helmet and died after a collision with a large truck.
Eastbound Baseline was shut down until late Saturday afternoon, between 40th Street and 42nd Place, while police investigated.
The passenger was a 4-year-old boy who was wearing a helmet. e has been identified as Reid's son. The child has been rushed to a nearby trauma center to be treated for injuries.
Police say it appears the toddler's injuries were minor.
The dump truck driver was not hurt.
