PHOENIX, Ariz. (KSAZ) - A man is in custody suspected of breaking into a Phoenix home, stealing a dog and setting fire to the garage.

Police said Cristhian Alvarez, 26, was stopped by an officer less than 8 hours after information on the suspects was released. He was interviewed and admitted to his involvement in the incident.

Investigators also said the puppy that was stolen was located and returned to the family.
