Phoenix man suspected in fatal Glendale shooting in custody

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a Phoenix man believed to be the gunman in a fatal shooting at a Glendale convenience store last week.

Glendale police say 42-year-old Gereimo Perez is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder.

His bond was set at $500,000 bond at his initial court appearance Wednesday and he doesn't have a lawyer yet for his case.

Perez was arrested Tuesday after the woman who drove the getaway car confirmed their involvement to police.

The woman says 29-year-old Mark McCreary still owed her money for car repairs, which police say may have led Perez to the July 8 confrontation at a Circle K store.

Police say McCreary was shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Perez's next scheduled court appearance is July 22.
