Pinal County man given 280-year prison sentence for child porn
FLORENCE, Ariz. (FOX 10) -- Offiicals with the Pinal County Attorney's Office say a 40-year-old Apache Junction man has been given a 280-year prison sentence for child pornography.
According to a statement released Thursday, 40-year-old Michael Huntoon was found guilty of ten counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and dangerous crimes against childrne. Huntoon was given a presumptive sentence of 28 years for each of the ten counts he was convicted on January 9, for a grand total of 280 years in prison.
Officials say Huntoon's arrest stem from a 2015 proactive investigation by Phoenix and Chandler Police Departments on a peer-to-peer file sharing network known for distributing child porn. Downloadable images and videos showing children exploited were discovered, and detectives later discovered that it came from Huntoon's computer.
Huntoon's Apache Junction home, officials say, was searched, and during the search, thousands of images of minors, some as young as five years old, were discovered on devices belonging to Huntoon.
