Police locate missing valley teen

A special needs student is safe and has been reunited with his family.

Phoenix police say 16-year-old Josiah Stevens, who is a student at North High School, missed his bus and never made it home after some sort of miscommunication. The school says they tried to give him a city bus pass, but Josiah ran off before they could stop him

The school also says they tried to chase him, but eventually lost sight of Josiah. The teen's dad says security at the school is very tight and he doesn't believe the school's explanation.

"You have to check out with security," he said. "They run you in the computer, find out if you're a senior, where you're going, who you're supposed to be with, so it makes no sense that he just ran from the school."

Luckily Josiah was found at around 10:30 p.m. on Monday night, but it's unclear where he was found or how police were able to find him.
