Porsche driver critically hurt in crash on 48th Street

One person is in critical condition after a bad crash shut down 48th Street on Sunday morning.

A spokesperson for the Phoenix Fire department says the driver of a Porsche sports car was critically injured, and three others also suffered injuries in the crash, which happened at about 10 o'clock on Sunday.

Phoenix Police say the driver of the Porsche was driving erratically, lost control of the vehicle, and then rolled over into oncoming traffic just south of Vineyard. The sports car collided with a pickup truck, which landed on its roof.

The Porsche driver, a man in his 30's, was extricated from the vehicle and taken to a nearby trauma center in critical condition. Fire crews say three people inside the truck were wearing seat belts. Inside that truck were two victims, an adult and a 14-year-old, who were both taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Phoenix Police are now investigating the crash.
