A recall has been issued for 429,200 wireless portable power banks because the devices can overheat and pose a risk of severe injury or death from fire and burn hazards to consumers.

Casely previously announced a recall of the power banks in April 2025. During that time, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said the company received 51 consumer reports of the lithium-ion battery overheating, expanding, or catching fire while they were charging their phones, resulting in six minor burn injuries.

Following last year’s recall announcement, there have also been 28 additional consumer reports of the lithium battery overheating, expanding or catching on fire, including two incidents resulting in one death and one severe incident on an airplane.

According to the CPSC, a 75-year-old woman from New Jersey was charging her cell phone with the power bank on her lap when it caught on fire and exploded in August 2024. The woman suffered second and third degree burns and later died from complications from her injuries.

And in February 2026, CPSC officials noted that a 47-year-old woman was charging her cell phone with the power bank on an airplane when it caught on fire and exploded, resulting in the woman suffering first degree burns.

Consumers seeking a free replacement should visit the company’s website and fill out an online form and provide two pictures. One photo should display the front of the power bank with the word "recalled" and the date written on it in permanent marker.

CPSC officials added that the second picture should show the model number located on the back of the power bank. The photo should be uploaded to the company’s website at https://www.getcasely.com/pages/2025-recall.
