Power restored to St. Mary's Food Bank's main warehouse
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Power has been restored to St. Mary's Food Bank after Monday's monsoon storm knocked out all power to the main warehouse.
In a statement released by Jerry Brown with the St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance, the warehouse, located on the 2000 block of N. 31st Avenue, contains several million pounds of food which were slated to be distributed to agency partners around the state in the coming weeks.
The food bank says a portable docking station used to hook up a generator was donated a few years ago, and as soon as the generator was running, power was restored to the food bank's warehouse on Monday night.
The food bank will be open on Tuesday.
