Chrysler-parent company Stellantis is recalling over 1.5 million Ram 1500 pickup trucks because of a seat belt issue that may result in an injury risk.

This new recall impacts 1.27 million vehicles in the United States, 156,000 in Canada, 15,000 in Mexico and roughly 75,000 outside North America.

Reuters reported that Stellantis is aware of a possible injury related to the recall.

Ram pickup truck recall

Why you should care:

The recall covers 2019–2026 Ram 1500 pickup that were possibly built with a second-row center or second-row driver side seat belt buckle anchor that was not properly attached to the truck’s body framework.

This problem may affect the performance of the second-row seat belt system and increase the risk of injury to people in the truck.

Are repairs available for the recalled Ram trucks?

What you can do:

According to Reuters, Stellantis will notify owners of the recalled Ram pickup trucks to call their local dealership to schedule an inspection of their vehicles.

Technicians will evaluate the second-row center and second-row driver seat belt buckle anchor, and if necessary, they will properly attach it to the pickup truck’s body.
