Special election to decide next mayor of Phoenix

PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Phoenix voters will decide the city's next mayor in a special run-off election.

The special election is between Kate Gallego, who received 45 percent of the vote last fall, and Daniel Valenzuela, who received 26 percent.

Fifty percent was needed to avoid the special election.

Voters in Districts 5 and 8 will also be selecting replacements for Gallego and Valenzuela.

Early voting is already underway, with 28 voting centers open in Phoenix.

All votes must be made by 7 p.m. on March 12.
