Sun Devil accused of domestic violence pleads not guilty
PHOENIX (AP) - A suspended Arizona State University football recruit has pleaded not guilty in an alleged domestic violence incident.
A Maricopa County Superior Court spokeswoman says Davon Durant entered his not-guilty plea Wednesday.
He faces charges of aggravated assault-domestic violence and disorderly conduct stemming from a March 7 incident in which Durant's girlfriend initially told police she was hit and choked during an argument.
Police have said the girlfriend later said the incident was only a verbal altercation. Durant also has said that.
Police said the girlfriend had abrasions and neck bruises consistent with being grabbed.

ASU suspended Durant indefinitely following his arrest. The linebacker is a junior-college transfer who had enrolled at ASU early so he could take part in spring practice.
