Sunday storms sweep across valley

A new storm system is sweeping through our state on Sunday, bringing isolated storms and showers to the valley.

A low pressure system from Baja has tapped into a lot of moisture from the southwest, creating a lot of rainfall on Sunday. Showers have been moving westward since about 10:30am on Sunday.

Storms could create strong downpours, wind and lightning. Lows are expected to only reach the mid-60s. Showers should lighten up by Sunday evening.

In the high country, snow levels are expected to reach about 7000 feet.
