Superhero group visits children in hospitals
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Some superheroes visited Banner Thunderbird Hospital Friday morning. Batman, Spiderman, and Wonder Woman made the rounds, handing out comics to some of the kids getting cared for there. It's called Comicare.
Comicare is a non-profit organization that goes around the valley delivering comic books to kids in the hospital.
The group says they give away thousands of comic books, usually up to five visits a week.
"The kids absolutely love when the characters come to visit, these are the real full blown characters. We consider the kids to be superheroes, and so when we can get these guys to come, the families, the kids just love it," said Wendy with Banner Thunderbird Hospital.
