Suspect in Chandler ADOT officer-involved shooting identified

CHANDLER, Ariz. (FOX 10) - Chandler Police officials say two people have been arrested, following a shooting involving an ADOT officer Thursday morning.

Chandler Police officials say the two were found on the 400 block of W. Half Moon Way, and one of them, who suffered a gunshot wound to his hand, is confirmed to be the suspect from the incident. That person has been taken to the hospital for treatment. The other person is considered an investigative lead.

On Thursday evening, Chandler Police identified the suspect as a 26-year-old Kamari Ameir Diamond.

Diamond remains hospitalized with a gunshot wound.

According to earlier statements by the Chandler Police Department, ADOT officers were attempting to serve an arrest warrant to a suspect near Alma School Road and Chandler Boulevard when one of the officers fired his weapon at the suspect.
