Teams from the Atlanta Police and Atlanta Fire Departments blocked off Pryor Street after the package was discovered. A number of units with the Atlanta Police Department's Bomb Squad arrived on the scene shortly before 11 a.m.

An Atlanta Police spokesman told FOX 5 the FBI has taken over the investigation.

Atlanta FBI Office spokesman Kevin Rowson confirmed to FOX 5 their bomb squad and other law enforcement agencies responded after they were notified by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. The FBI hasn't yet said what the package contained.

A FOX 5 photographer saw post office workers standing outside of the building. Those postal workers have since gone back inside the building, and the scene has been cleared.

CNN President Jeff Zucker confirmed in a tweet that the package was addressed to the network.

In his tweet, Zucker wrote, "This morning, another suspicious package addressed to CNN was intercepted at an Atlanta post office. There is no immediate danger to the CNN Center."

Atlanta Police tell FOX 5 the FBI has taken over the investigation.

It wasn't immediately clear if the incident was tied to other parcels containing pipe bombs that were mailed to CNN's New York office and prominent Democrats last week, but the FBI said the package looked similar.

In his tweet, Zucker added, "All mail, at all CNN domestic bureaus, is being screened at off-site facilities as of last Wednesday, so this package would NOT have come directly to the CNN Center, even if it hadn't been intercepted. Our screening process is working and we will keep you updated as we learn more."
